Jury
Selection
Psychology helps to inform and guide which jurors to deselect. Serpa Trial Consulting has expertise in relevant attitudinal and individual differences, and the legal processes involved in jury selection. If a mock trial is conducted with Serpa Trial Consulting, data collected from that exercise will also inform jury selection.

Witness
Preparation
Serpa Trial Consulting works with lay and expert witnesses in preparation of a deposition or trial testimony. Serpa Trial Consulting utilizes psychological knowledge to provide support, and assist witnesses with the difficulties of testifying.

Witness Evaluation
Serpa Trial Consulting assesses lay and expert witness’s capacity to testify advantageously, and offers recommendations for improvement based on deposition testimony and/or witness interviews.

Shadow Jury
Serpa Trial Consulting will organize a demographically matched sample of participants who will act as impartial jurors. These jurors observe the trial, complete questionnaires, and provide critical real-time feedback.

Trial
Monitoring
Serpa Trial Consulting will attend to important details occurring during trial, including juror reactions, evidence admissible in closing argument, and witness admissions, to ensure that attorneys can stay present in their advocacy and argument. Serpa Trial Consulting can also help to mitigate confirmation bias by maintaining objectivity as a consultant.

Juror
Research
Researching venire persons and selected jurors in-depth, to tailor themes and strategies, is an increasingly important element of effective representation. Serpa Trial Consulting conducts this research carefully and anonymously as to not disrupt potential or seated jurors.

Post-Trial
Interviews
When permissible in the trial venue, Serpa Trial Consulting interviews the jurors who sat at trial on a variety of topics, affording attorneys the benefit of crucial feedback for future cases. The feedback collected during these interviews is immensely valuable regardless of trial outcome.

Continuing Education
Teaching and continuous education are highly valued at Serpa Trial Consulting. Serpa Trial Consulting is available for guest lectures, CLE programs, and training seminars on innovative topics in the field, and based on the unique needs of each organization, law firm, or university.

Virtual
Services
Serpa Trial Consulting offers most services in-person and online. The decision to conduct services online depends on multiple factors. Let’s discuss what will work best for you and your trial team.

Focus Groups
Whether pre-discovery, pre-settlement conference, or pre-trial, a focus group can offer vital feedback on community standards, and case information and evidence. Participants are demographically matched to the venue to ensure representativeness.

Mock Trials
Serpa Trial Consulting coordinates everything needed for a day of attorney presentations, juror questionnaires, jury deliberations, and a narrowed focus group. Your trial team will receive feedback on themes, strategies, witnesses, evidence, attorney style and more. Serpa Trial Consulting will analyze and interpret all relevant data and juror statements collected, and will present findings and recommendations in a comprehensive report.

Voir Dire
Serpa Trial Consulting will provide input on any existing questions, and/or, design and develop a supplemental juror questionnaire, for a concise and pointed approach to obtain juror information integral to jury selection.
